The Heart of the Matter: Safety! Anti-Static, and Fire-Retardant Properties
Safety is paramount in grain handling due to the electrostatic properties of grain. As a result, conveyor belt covers must feature exceptional anti-static and fire-retardant properties. These covers also need to resist oil penetration that can cause rubber swelling and distortion, leading to tracking problems, while maintaining performance in cold conditions. Additionally, the carcass must provide strong bolt retention, crucial for grain bucket elevators.
Commonly Used Carcasses

- Plylok Supreme: Twill weave for excellent bolt retention; 3x the rip resistance of traditional plied belts.
- Plylok Master: Cost-effective plain weave option with good bolt retention for lower operating tensions.
Commonly Used Covers

- UGH 2.0: Exceeds OSHA standards for static conductivity, is flame retardant per MSHA Title 30 section 18.65 and ARPM-FR Class 2 requirements, and offers superior oil resistance under both normal and cold conditions.
